Morwenna Crichton Director of Yelland Savage recently visited Staffordshire University, Leek road campus, to deliver lectures on potential future careers to first year LL.B students.
Received with great enthusiasm Morwenna introduced the enthusiastic students to the complexities and excitement of contract law. The lecture, which explained how construction contracts are formed, managed and sometimes disputed was well timed as the students were getting to grips with their contract law module - offers, acceptance and consideration being the hot topic. Morwenna kept the lecture fun and interesting showing a video of the design process which, involved a cartoon sketch of the ‘death star’ being designed and not quite going to plan.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the students, the ‘death star’ video was well received” … “It is important to educate students in a language that engages them and makes them excited about learning”, said Morwenna.
Yelland Savage have created a placement scheme bespoke for Staffordshire University students, where they will all be invited to submit a CV and cover letter, attend a formal panel interview and two students, will be selected to take up a one week placement, at Yelland Savage Head Office in Rugby.
